Have you been trying forever to lose weight and still feel like you are taking sand off the beach with a teaspoon? Are you tired of the shakes, meal replacement bars and grapefruits? You can enhance your weight loss efforts through the use of acupuncture, a safe and effective treatment to help you lose weight.
The idea that you could lose weight by lying down on a table while needles are inserted probably seems ridiculous and right along the lines of Ouija boards and magic eight balls. Skepticism is good, but not in this case. Acupuncture has been proven effective at promoting weight loss for a number of reasons and is used widely as a weight loss tool in Boynton Beach.
Traditional weight loss methods include daily exercise and calorie restriction. There are no other ways to reduce weight. Food is energy and food that is not used as energy is stored. The more you eat and the less you move, the more food stores you have.
Unfortunately, weight loss is not as simple as eating less and moving more. Any person who has dieted for a long time can tell you that they have tried this and it doesn’t work for them. Weight loss is complex and can be very frustrating to the person who has hit a plateau and is no longer losing weight despite diet and exercise.
Sometimes, when you eat too little, your metabolism will slow way down because your body believes that it is now starving. Your body naturally tries to conserve the energy stores when it believes that a famine has hit. Your metabolism slows down, you eat even less because you haven’t lost weight this week, and your metabolism goes even slower. This is a downward spiral for people who can’t lose weight because they can’t grasp that eating more will help them lose weight in the long run.
One of the main reasons acupuncture works for weight loss is that acupuncture promotes a healthy digestive system. With a strong digestive system that is in balance, you are better able to process food and retain necessary nutrients. Cravings will be reduced when you body is in balance.
Secondly, acupuncture can help control your appetite. You will be able to resist the urge to overeat much more effectively after you receive an acupuncture treatment. Controlling your appetite is one of the hardest things to do when you are trying to lose weight.
